Almaty

Foreign Investment Working Group

Description

As the first AmCham Working Group created when the Chamber was founded almost twenty years ago, the Almaty Foreign Investment Working Group serves as the prototype for all the Working Groups created at AmCham over the last two decades. The Group’s mission is to represent and support the interests of the membership, both foreign and local, in Kazakhstan. Members seek to identify common problems encountered in trade and investment and to proactively work with government agencies and institutions in Kazakhstan to address those issues.

The Group seeks to stay abreast of key legislative changes and developments and to assess their impact on the business community. The Foreign Investment Group has focused its attention on intellectual property rights, tender preferences for local firms, corruption issues, regional trade issues, and local content.
