Roundtables
PPEPI organizes a series of thematic public Roundtables each year to provide an in-depth look at the issues highlighted by the PPEPI Working Groups. The Roundtables, which consist of two half-day sessions each headed by a PPEPI Working Group Chair, take place at four-month intervals and address one or more of the five PPEPI pillars. Each event features prominent panelists knowledgeable in each of the thematic areas. As public events, PPEPI Roundtables are designed to raise awareness and promote discussion of the issues central to PPEPI’s main objective: improving the business environment in Kazakhstan for foreign and local investors alike. Accordingly, Roundtables are interactive in nature, drawing the audience and speakers together in on-going dialogue.
PPEPI Roundtables are well-attended by senior government officials, the private sector, public policy centers, the diplomatic community, NGOs, and academics. Members of the media are particularly active in covering the events for both print and television coverage. Media outfits such as Interfax Kazakhstan, Khabar, KazInform, Astana, Novoe Pokolenie, and Business i Vlast have interviewed panelists for feature reports on issues raised during the Roundtables.
