KIHE 2009 Healthcare and Dentistry Exhibition will be open on May 13 at the Pavilion 11 of the Atakent Exhibition Centre. The exhibition is organised by Iteca, a Kazakhstan exhibition company, together with international partners: ITE Group Plc (UK), GIMA (Germany), and EUF A.S. (Turkey).
The 6,000-square-meter exhibition area of KIHE 2009 has brought together about 150 companies from 18 countries. The basis of the exposition is formed by manufacturers and distributors of medical equipment. Thus, the national stand of Germany features a great many medical equipment manufacturers. Heavily represented are groups of companies from China and Jordan. Domestic companies, along with medical equipment, are presenting pharmaceuticals, various disinfection facilities, dentistry novelties, etc. On the whole, the geographical representation of exhibitors is impressing covering the following countries: Belarus, China, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, India, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United States.
“We present new products at KIHE 2009 that have just been or are being registered. For example, at our stand visitors will be able to familiarise themselves with Clever Check, a talking pocket glucose meter, with the first liquid growth hormone in a multi-dose pre-filled disposable syringe, with a new form of insulin... Other facilities on display include a total endoprosthesis replacement set by Gruppo Bioimplanti S.r.l. of Italy, reanimation consumables by Medicalexpand of France, equipment by Triton Electronic System of Russia. All these are state-of-the-art technologies in the world medicine,” says Alexei Kolesov, Commercial Director, MedTechnika JSC.
One of the novelties featured by the Dental Section is a composite teeth-improving material, an innovative product by Ultradent (US).
As is generally recognised by professionals, over the years since its inception, KIHE has not only become a traditional meeting place for Kazakhstan doctors and their foreign colleagues from virtually all continents of the world but also a mirror of the processes taking place in healthcare. Its relevance for all healthcare system stakeholders in today’s unstable economic situation is hard to be overestimated. It is important now more than ever to understand how healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical manufacturers live, what they are thinking about, what are their concerns, what they are pinning their hopes on. For exhibiting companies, it is no less important not to drop out of the advertising and marketing activities as consumers will see and note the fact, willing or not. Besides, in times of total economising, it is more than ever important to make maximum use of all opportunities the exhibition offers both exhibitors and visitors. These include participation in specialised forums, seminars and presentations, numerous discussions at the stands, and getting familiarised with the new products in the world market.
The Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan has developed a strategic plan for 2009-2011 aimed to tackle the problems facing the national healthcare system. 299.5 billion tenge of the national budget has been earmarked for implementation of the strategic plan in 2009, and 411.6 and 368.9 billion tenge in the years to follow, respectively. Healthcare spending in Kazakhstan exceeded 383 billion tenge in 2008 and reached 482 billion tenge in 2009. It is noteworthy that right at the exhibition the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan is going to hold an investment forum devoted to the development prospects of design and construction of healthcare facilities.
Please be reminded that KIHE 2009 is officially supported by the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan, Almaty City Akimat, Almaty City Healthcare Department, S.D.
