Dear AmCham Members,

Many thanks for your generous support of the Almaty Little League Baseball program this summer through AmCham funding.  We could not have played without your support. Our league provides wholesome entertainment, skill building, and fun for both local and expatriate kids from ages 8 to 14.  It also provides a way for local and expatriate kids to mix and meet. This summer the league had three divisions with three teams each and a total of about 100 players of which more than 50% were local kids.  Each team had numerous practices (as many as three a week) and played about 12 games.

Having co-managed a team this summer, I can honestly say that baseball little league is a ton of fun.   The excitement is unparalleled.  Please encourage your sons, as well as your daughters, to consider playing next year.

Please be aware that we are still without a major corporate sponsor and continue to look for funding for our next season.   If any AmCham members would be willing to sponsor a team, the kids would be very grateful.  We are in desperate need of new equipment including protective gear for the catchers, new bats and balls, and new batting helmets.   We also need volunteer coaches.
