Alexander Yerofeyev has been appointed as Ernst & Young’s CIS Restructuring Services Leader and a member of the EMEIA Restructuring Services Management Group (Europe, Middle East, India and Africa).
Alexander Yerofeyev was born in Moscow on 1 October 1968. In 1990 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute for Foreign Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, Department of International Economic Relations (with honors). In 1990-1995 he worked for the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, spending over three years with the Russian Embassy in Laos.
In 1995-1999 Alexander was part of the Corporate Finance and Financial Recovery team in the Russian office of PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he advanced from advisor to manager. In 1999-2001 he worked in PwC’s London office, focusing on distressed companies and insolvency procedures. In 2001, Alexander moved to KPMG, working as a Financial Advisory senior manager in London and then in Moscow. In 2006 Alexander was promoted to Corporate Finance partner, and in early 2009 he headed the company’s newly established Restructuring Group.
In recent years, Alexander has led major financial and operational restructuring projects and been responsible for advising the committee of foreign banks that are creditors of UC RUSAL. Alexander is a leading expert on restructuring, financial recovery and insolvency issues. He is also a recognized specialist in the areas of infrastructure finance and public private partnership. Alexander has been a member of the British Securities and Investment Institute since 1997.
