On 1 October, 2009 KPMG CIS announced the appointment of two new Kazakhstan audit partners: Asel Khairova and Alla Nigay.
Asel and Alla have been with KPMG in Kazakhstan for more than thirteen years demonstrating professionalism, strong commitment to KPMG’s values and enjoying the support and respect of both colleagues and clients.
According to Andrew Cranston, Senior Partner, KPMG in Russia and CIS, both “are outstanding professionals who will help drive our business forward across the CIS. As of 1 October, 25% of KPMG Russia and CIS Partners are female. This is a target that has been set globally by KPMG and we are proud to be one of the first firms in KPMG to achieve this”.
Asel Khairova joined KPMG in 1997. Her primary experience is as an auditor in the energy and natural resources sector including but not limited to mining, power and oil & gas. Asel was involved in IFRS conversion projects for Kazakhstan companies and interaction with the Ministry of Finance to address the tariff setting and tax issues arising from implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Kazakhstan. She is a Certified Auditor of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Asel also holds a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Asel spent two years on secondment in KPMG London.
Alla Nigay joined KPMG in 1996. She has extensive experience of auditing organizations in various sizes and across many sectors. Since joining KPMG Almaty, Alla has been in charge of the audits of various international and local companies in Kazakhstan that operate in the agriculture, food, telecommunications and other areas of Kazakhstan industry. Alla participated in designing and conducting client training on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Alla is a Certified Auditor of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She also holds Certified International Professional Accountant (CIPA) and a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
At the moment KPMG in Kazakhstan has 8 partners, 4 of whom are Kazakh citizens, providing a strong mix of local and international experience which we are proud to make available for our clients.
