College of Continuing Education jointly with the Central Asian Tax Research Center is preparing a series of executive courses leading to a certificate “International Tax Specialist”. The series includes 3 courses, gradually developing participant’s theoretical and practical knowledge related to international taxation, which could be either taken as stand-alone courses or as a series leading to the certificate:

1.    Introduction to International Taxation – establishing the fundamentals and principles of international taxation and the practical aspects of tax treaty application

2.    International Tax Planning – exploring the international tax planning opportunities from Kazakhstani and international perspectives, use of holding companies, financing companies, etc.

3.    International Tax Compliance – establishing understanding of compliance issues related to international taxation, issues of withholding taxation, and permanent establishment issues.

The series of courses is conducted by Prof. JUDr. Tomas Balco, LL.M., ACCA, an associate professor at KIMEP, who is also the founding director of the Central Asian Tax Research Center and is spearheading the introduction of tax specialization at KIMEP. Prof. Balco is internationally recognized tax specialist with over 11 years of practical experience in both private and public sectors.
