Ashley Clarke started his career in the United Kingdom in 1995, became a partner in 2004, joined KPMG in Russia and the CIS as a Financial Services audit partner in March 2008, and has been Head of Audit for KPMG in Kazakhstan and Central Asia since October 2012. In 2016 he also took on the role of Chief Operating Officer for KPMG in the region.
Ashley Clarke has 23 years of experience in the Big 4, specializing in the financial services sector. He has worked with banks, insurance companies, and investment funds in the UK, the Caribbean,Russia and Kazakhstan, and has been engaged on numerous audits, due diligence, and advisory projects for global clients in several different jurisdictions.
In addition to his own client responsibilities, Mr. Clarke serves as engagement quality review partner for KPMG’s engagements in Russia and the CIS region. He serves as Audit Quality Performance Liaison Partner for KPMG in Russia and the CIS, a firm comprising approximately 4,000 staff and 90 partners in seven countries. He has recently led country quality reviews for KPMG audit practices in India, Ukraine and Saudi Arabia.
Ashley Clarke became a member of the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan in 2016 and also serves as the Kazakhstan country representative for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and as Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan.
